This is a lovely-looking parkland course that’s both forgiving and tricky in places. There are some challenging holes over water.
The clubhouse and facilities are nice, and clean: from the locker rooms and hot bath to the panoramic restaurant overlooking the 18th green.
It’s one of the cheaper clubs to play at, but that’s not really reflected in the condition of the course. The tee boxes get a lot of use so are a little worn in places, but the fairways and greens are well looked after.
The bunkers here are not sandy and actually quite hard, so they require a bit of technique to get out of.
I’ve seen some bad reviews of this course online, but they’re not really justified in my opinion. We played with a member who told us the course has improved considerably recently.
Given the price, compared to others in Shanghai, it’s well worth a visit.
